Humanizing support
My name is Shakira Adul, and I come from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Volunteering with Umoja Helping Hearts Uganda has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I first learned about Umoja through friends who had supported humanitarian projects in Uganda. I was inspired by the organization’s commitment to helping vulnerable communities through clean water projects, education support, food distribution, and healthcare initiatives. What impressed me most was their dedication to serving people with compassion and dignity. When I arrived in Uganda, I had the opportunity to visit several communities where Umoja was implementing projects. I met families who had gained access to clean water through newly constructed boreholes, children who had received educational materials, and widows who benefited from food assistance programs. Seeing the direct impact of these efforts was truly moving. One experience that touched my heart was participating in a Ramadan Iftar distribution program. Watching families gather to break their fast with joy and gratitude reminded me of the importance of sharing blessings with those in need. The smiles on the faces of children and the prayers from elderly beneficiaries were unforgettable. Throughout my time with Umoja Helping Hearts Uganda, I witnessed transparency, dedication, and genuine concern for the well-being of communities. The staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that every donation and every act of kindness reached those who needed it most. Volunteering with Umoja taught me that humanitarian service knows no borders, nationality, or language. We are all connected by our shared humanity. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, to the positive changes taking place in Uganda. I encourage others to support and volunteer with Umoja Helping Hearts Uganda. Together, we can bring hope, opportunity, and lasting change to communities in need.
