Let’s Go fetch water
Join Us To bring water The people of Wakiso
Access to clean and safe water is essential for healthy and thriving communities. Unfortunately, many rural and underserved communities in Uganda still struggle to access reliable sources of clean drinking water. Families, especially women and children, often walk long distances every day to collect water from unsafe sources such as open wells, ponds, and streams. This exposes them to waterborne diseases and reduces time available for education, work, and other productive activities. Umoja Helping Hearts Uganda is committed to addressing this challenge by implementing sustainable water projects that provide safe and accessible water to vulnerable communities. Through the construction of boreholes, wells, and water systems, we help reduce the burden of water scarcity and improve the overall well-being of families.
why clean water matters
Access to clean water is more than a basic need—it is a foundation for health, education, and economic growth. When communities have safe water nearby: Children attend school more regularly Families remain healthier Women gain time for income-generating activities Communities grow stronger and more resilient Providing clean water is one of the most effective ways to create lasting change in vulnerable communities.
The communities we serve
Our water projects are implemented in underserved communities across Uganda where clean water is scarce. We prioritize areas where: Communities rely on unsafe water sources Children travel long distances to collect water Waterborne diseases are common Schools and health centers lack safe water access By working closely with community leaders and local authorities, we ensure that water projects are installed in locations where they will have the greatest impact.
